A project from college where the task at hand was to take an excerpt of text we resonated with and come up with a dynamic, engaging, expressive rendition of it in html/css code. I chose this excerpt from an old greek story provided by my professor at the time, and decided to run with the greek origin as well as the poetic, cerebral content of the writing itself.
I used Figma to gather visual inspiration, storyboard a walkthrough of how I wanted the text to flow and be displayed—where I wanted the viewer to linger, how I wanted to pace the text, the emotions of color, speed, art style, etc.—and design individual elements that I exported from Illustrator using the SVG feature. The prototype feature in Figma allowed me to really play around with how I wanted things to look, act, feel, etc. What kinds of movement I wanted, how I wanted the viewer to navigate through each part of the code story.
