this cake was for a high school grad party, modeled off of the person’s decorated grad cap.
the entire cake is edible, with the flat top made from rice krispies and white chocolate, and the bottom made from eggless strawberry cream cake, with the entire cake covered in homemade fondant and decorated with gold and blue paint.
the cake is made up of four layers of eggless strawberry cream cake, and filling made up of a layer of white chocolate ganache, a layer of strawberry preserves buttercream, and a layer of towel dried strawberry slices.

for the cake layers, i used this recipe (only the cake part) from bianca zapatka.
for the white chocolate ganache, i followed a 1:3 heavy cream/white chocolate ratio.
for the strawberry preserves buttercream, i followed a 1:2 butter/sugar ratio buttercream and this recipe from well seasoned studio for the strawberry preserves. after cooled, i simply just added the preserves into the buttercream and adjusted the sugar content until my desired flavor and consistency.
